Worship is the single most important act of human existence. Worship means "worth." We worship whatever has ultimate worth and value in our lives.
Effective worship brings us to that "ah ha!" moment. Worship restores the "wow" factor in our lives. This is what life is all about! It's not running the rat race at an ever-increasing pace or owning a bigger house or more expensive car; wearing designer clothes or retiring at age 50. Life is found in Jesus Christ ... It's about living God's purpose. . . serving people. . . and keeping my promises.
Oh, how easy it is to forget these truths during the drop-dead deadlines of the work week, family time demands, and ever-increasing economic challenges of life.
When God's Spirit touches the spirit, we are reminded that success does not necessarily equal wholeness. True worship is Spirit touching spirit. Worship happens when the presence of God is bridged with people's real-life needs in a real-life context.
