Newcomer's & Visitor’s Information
Welcome to St. Mary’s!
We know that venturing out to a new church for the first time can be a challenge. With this “newcomer’s and visitor’s guide” we have tried to identify and answer most of the questions that first time visitors might have. If this doesn’t answer all your questions, please call our church office at 352-567-3888. We are eager to welcome you and make your first visit with us a rewarding and comfortable one!
Where is St. Mary’s Episcopal Church?
Our church is located at 37637 Magnolia Avenue, Dade City Florida, 33523. Click on the DIRECTIONS/CONTACT US link on the left hand side of this page for a map and specific directions from your location. For worship, please enter our main entrance located on Magnolia Avenue or the transept entrance on 11th Street. There is also an accessible entrance that is best reached from the handicapped parking lot off of 11th St.
For day to day church business, please enter the office located in the smaller house to the West of the church on Magnolia Avenue. You will find our offices open Monday through Thursday 9 AM – Noon and 1 PM – 5 PM.
What time are the services?
7:45 a.m. Holy Eucharist every Sunday throughout the year
9:00 a.m. There is an Adult Forum year round and Sunday School during the regular school year for youth.
10:00 a.m. Holy Eucharist with choir and musical accompaniment - there is Children’s Chapel and nursery throughout the year.
6:30 a.m. Holy Eucharist followed by a men's breakfast
10:00 a.m. Women's Bible study & fellowship followed by
11:00 a.m. Holy Eucharist
How long do services last?
Sunday Services vary in length from 45 minutes for the 8 a.m. service to an hour to an hour and 15 minutes at the 10:00 a.m.service, depending on whether there are special events during the service such as baptisms or special music.
Thursday Morning Services last about 30 minutes.
What time should I plan to arrive?
If you are joining us for Sunday School or Adult forum, plan to arrive at 8:45 a.m. If you are coming to attend for worship only, plan to arrive about 10 minutes before the 7:45 a.m. or 10:00 a.m. service starts in order to have time to find a seat and get settled.
Where should I park?
We have plenty of off street parking off both Magnolia and 11th Street in Parking lot (handicap spaces are available in this lot).
What should I wear to church?
There is a big range of dress at St. Mary's - suits to khakis and skirts! Generally, most people attend wearing "business" or “business casual” attire. We care about who you are on the inside, not what you are wearing. Feel free to wear whatever you feel most comfortable in for church.
Is there a Coffee Hour after church?
We offer coffee hour almost every Sunday after both the 8 a.m. and the 10:00 a.m. service in our parish hall (Freeman Hall). Please join us – we’d love to get to know you better!
What about Sunday school for my children?
Sunday School takes place during the regular School year from 9 a.m. until 9:45 a.m. (between the two Sunday Services). Nursery and Childrens Chapel are availible year round.
(0 - 3 years old)Childcare is provided at no charge. Some parents keep their babies with them in the service.Childcare is located in the Nursery which is located downstairs at the North end of Freeman Hall.
(Age 3 - 5)Children in this age group attend Children's Chapel each Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. (parents come to get thier children after the Lord's Prayer in the regular worship service). Worship consists of a simple prayer service with lots of singing and storytelling and worship that is age appropirate.These children are in St. Mary’s Children’s Chapel which is also located downstairs at the North end of Freeman Hall across the hall from the nursery.
School Age Children/Youth
All school age children may attend grade level classes and thier parents may attend our "Parent's Class" which are offered from 9:00 a.m. until 9:45 a.m. during the regular school year in Tanno Hall which is located on the Northwest corner of our property.
How can I get more information or get added to the mailing list?
Please fill out the “Welcome” card located in the pews or speak to a volunteer exit greeter after the service. The Exit greeters would be happy to speak to you about any questions you may have and can take down your contact information. You may also complete the contact form on the home page and we will respond as soon as possible
